Creatine During Menopause: What the Research Actually Says

What Happens During Menopause
As estrogen levels decline during perimenopause and menopause, several things happen simultaneously:

A 2025 randomized controlled trial specifically studied creatine in perimenopausal and menopausal women. Medium-dose creatine hydrochloride was superior to placebo in enhancing reaction time, increasing frontal brain creatine levels, and showed potential in reducing mood swing severity.
A separate 2024 meta-analysis of 16 clinical trials found creatine may improve memory, attention, and processing speed — exactly the functions that brain fog disrupts.

How Much and What Form?
